Professional Experience

Dietary Aide
Somerset, NJ

Parker was my first Clinical experience and taught me the importance of communication, being in a team, and multi-tasking. As a Dietary Aide, I worked with a team of Dietitians, Cooks, Nurses, and other Dietary Aides. While preparing and serving food, communication had to be clear, concise, and understood by every member of the team. While serving food I had to ensure that my residents were satisfied throughout meal time by making sure they had food that fit their dietary needs/restrictions, correct order, and anything else they needed. This was the first time I was exposed to clinical diets (Low/No-Sodium, Low/No-Sugar, Diabetic Diets, Cardiac, Liquid, and Nectar/Honey-Thicken Liquids). I learned the differences of these diets and their importance in rehabilitation and senior living. A great responsibility rested on my shoulders to ensure the residents diets were correct as I was the last line of assurance between the kitchen and the patient.
Assistant Manager
Hillsborough, NJ
I started working at Smoothie King during my Sophomore year in High School. I quickly became a Shift Leader after proving my work ethic ability to learn quickly. After being a shift leader for three years, I became an Assistant Manager due to my leadership qualities and reliability. Being in this position has taught me many working and life skills. I have learned how to create schedules, conduct inventories, order and process product shipments, communicate with customers and employees, manage employees, and build great communication skills. I thank Smoothie King, my coworkers, and my customers for creating the opportunity for me to fall in love with food service and customer service.
Recently, I’ve started doing “Smoothie of the Week”; including smoothies that have lower sugar, higher protein, more vitamins and minerals, or higher fiber. I include some quick facts about the smoothies and sometimes leave samples for customers to try! Scroll through the photos to see some of the smoothies I've already featured.
